Assistant/Associate Professor of Viticulture in new Wine and Viticulture Department at Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo.

Full-time, tenure-track, academic year position. Preferred start date September 15, 2014. Salary and rank commensurate with qualifications and experience. A Ph.D. in Viticulture, Plant Physiology, Plant Pathology, Plant Genetics, or related field is required. Significant industry experience highly preferred, and some college-level teaching desired. Candidates should have expertise in production and/or experimental viticulture and strong interests in undergraduate and graduate teaching. Knowledge of and experience in developing and managing premium wine grape vineyard production advantageous. Responsibilities include teaching introductory and advanced level viticulture courses, supervision of undergraduate and graduate student research projects, participation in campus vineyard management team, and development and supervision of new viticulture research lab and vineyard. The successful candidate is expected to participate in scholarly activities (i.e., grant-funded research and peer-reviewed publication) as part of his/her professional development.
