Experienced Winemaker

DCMR is a certified organic vineyard located about 50 km West of Montréal that produces premium Icewines, Late Harvest wines, Ice Ciders, and traditional method sparkling wines, that reflect the unique characteristics of the Monteregie region of western Quebec.

Our winemaker will be involved in all facets of organic winemaking including collaborating with the Vineyard Director on planting and harvest decisions, processing and pressing the grapes, natural fermentation of the juice with indigenous yeasts, through to final bottling of the finished wine.

This is a hands-on position that requires someone fit and strong with a committed work ethic
who is comfortable and self-sufficient enough to operate alone while also being a flexible and innovative team player.

Technical expertise in high quality winemaking, with a solid understanding of the integrated nature of a small scale winery and its related commitments and collaborative work obligations, is imperative.

•Ensuring wines are made, monitored, and maintained to the highest quality standard in a winery that is clean and well organized
• Coordinating basic laboratory analyses with production demands
• Sourcing winery equipment and supplies
• Communicating effectively and working safely with co-workers while training and supervising a permanent crew through a collaborative leadership style
• Deadline disciplined with the flexibility and willingness to work within constantly changing priorities

• Hands-on knowledge and experience in all phases of organic wine production and winery operations from harvest to bottling line management
• Extensive tasting and wine assessment experience at all stages of production
• Ability to speak and understand Spanish and French is desirable but not essential
• Mechanical aptitude and technical common sense
